Tailpipe emissions: Non-road mobile machinery
Whether for research & development, emissions regulations such as Stage V in-service monitoring (ISM) or benchmarking technologies and alternative fuels, our customers turn to us for unrivalled expertise in the application of Portable Emissions Measuring Systems (PEMS).
Non-road mobile machinery (NRMM) presents its own unique challenges. Few machines are the same and often the testing locations are remote.
We are pleased to offer N₂O, NH₃ and VOC tailpipe emissions analysis in addition to gaseous and particulate matter emissions.
We are able to test globally, wherever and whenever you need us.
Project management
Liaison with the end user to arrange the tests and ensure customer satisfaction is maintained
Mobility
Working globally via bases in the UK, Germany and USA
Flexibility
Working around operators’ working hours
Experience
Experience across various applications from small all-terrain vehicles to inland waterway vessels
Cost effectiveness
Removing the internal burden to free up skilled staff for core projects, through outsourcing
Why real-world emissions testing matters
Regulatory compliance
Ensure your machinery meets emissions standards such as Stage V ISM (in-service monitoring) and Euro VI ISC (in-service conformity)
Reality vs. laboratory
Real-world testing complements the laboratory, it provides another layer and dimension of understanding regarding real-world performance that the laboratory alone can only imitate.
Marketing and business development
An organisation using its own laboratory results will always be received with scepticism, “marking your own homework.” Alternatively, real-world analysis by Emissions Analytics delivers trust and weight
Our non-road machinery tailpipe emissions testing approach
Emissions Analytics use Portable Emissions Measurement Systems (PEMS) to collect real-world emissions data directly from non-road mobile machinery, including:
Mining and construction equipment
excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, haul trucks, generators, rock crushers
Agricultural machinery
tractors, harvesters, sprayers, woodchippers
What emissions measurements can we provide?
Measurements available both raw exhaust and post-aftertreatment:
- Fuel consumption (L/kWh)
- Carbon monoxide (CO)
- Carbon dioxide (CO2)
- Nitric oxide (NO)
- Nitrogen dioxide (NO2)
- Oxides of nitrogen (NOx = NO + NO2)
- Nitrous oxide (N2O)
- Total hydrocarbons (THC)
- Particle number (PN, lower size cut-off 23 nm)
- Particle mass (PM)
- Ammonia (NH3)
- Formaldehyde (CH2O)
- Speciated volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
- Sulphur dioxide (SO2)
- Methane (CH4)
- Non-methane hydrocarbons (NMHC).
